Do you ever fantasize about arriving to a new city and having the paparazzi follow you like you're a Travel Channel celebrity? Ok, maybe it's just me. It would probably get annoying quickly but would fun for an hour or so. I think the recent photos of President Obama eating Vietnamese with Anthony Bourdain in Hanoi had me thinking of that. Anyway, a new service I am offering to couples visiting Chicago is to be your own personal vacation photographer. And it's only for an hour or so. (Yes, this applies to you Chicago suburbanites that rarely make it downtown too!)
Ok so you may be thinking, Mr. Nomad, I have a camera and/or an iPhone 6S that takes good pics. But let's get real. It's a pain in the ass to carry your nice camera everywhere or hand your phone to random street person that you don't know in a neighborhood that you don't know to take your photo. And you don't want to be that couple that walks around with a selfie stick. We've all seen them. Make it easy on yourself and hire me to do this. Traveling is about enjoying the moment with your boo without worries. (Also, why should getting engaged and married be the only times to have cool photos taken of you two?!)
Here's how it works...
We'll meet at a local coffee shop beforehand. Get to know each other a bit. We'll discuss what kind of style you want me to capture. I'll make recommendations on deep dish pizza joints, bars, and other fun things to do in the city (free of charge of course). Then we'll start! I will personally follow you around the city capturing your vacation for you :)
Neighborhoods I recommend...
Millennium Park - Where the good stuff is... The Art Institute, The Bean, those electronic boards of faces that spit water
Grant Park - Buckingham Fountain is located here and it's perfectly wedged between the lake and skyline
Navy Pier - Home of Centennial Wheel our 150-foot Ferris wheel and many little kioks
Lincoln Park - It has the zoo and more yuppies than you can count
Logan Square - A hybrid of grungy hipsterness and fantastic Mexican food
Wicker Park - A super artsy and trendy neighborhood on the northwest side
The Loop - The concrete jungle with a winding river that cuts through... stand under train tracks, chill on bridges, and feel tiny among skyscrapers
South Loop - Great for walking among 100 year old architecture. It's where Chicago's oldest building is located.
Pilsen - Another hipstery neighborhood full of culture and tons of street art and murals
Perfect! I traveled the world for a year solo. Nothing wrong with that. And the best part is that makes you the star of all of the shots! Just note that when booking a shoot.
Hope to see you on the streets of Chicago soon. Remember you can click on one of the packages above or book a shoot here.
